Before photography, the portrait was how a family declared their place in the world. Commissioned from the finest painters, hung in the finest rooms, it was an act of intention. A statement that said: we were here, and we mattered.

That tradition never disappeared. It simply found a new medium.

My fine art portraits are created in the spirit of the Old Masters, warm light drawn across skin like oil on canvas, deep shadow that gives weight and presence, or a luminous, almost otherworldly softness that seems to glow from within. Each image is conceived as a painting first, and a photograph second.

This is my most considered and personal body of work. Every sitting is approached as a commission, unhurried, deliberate, and entirely unique to the person in front of my lens. The result is not a collection of images. It is a single, definitive work, one that belongs framed on a wall, passed down through generations, and looked at differently each decade it hangs there.
